Bob Shannon
Since 2000, Bob Shannon has interviewed and written the biographies of over 100 well known American Broadcasters, including American Top 40's Casey Kasem, WABC's "Cousin Brucie" Morrow, Laugh Ins' Gary Owens and the legendary Wolfman Jack. A nationally recognized radio historian, Shannon's columns were a weekly feature in the radio trade magazine Radio & Records ("Legends with Bob Shannon") and ("All Them Big Dogs") on the popular radio industry web site www.allaccess.com.
Among his career writing highlights: In 1983, Bob won Billboard Magazine's Special of the Year for his 12-hour radio special, "An American Christmas." Other works include a 48-hour radio special, "The Story of Country Music" (1982) and "Concert Over America," a 6-hour radio special named a finalist in the New York International Radio Awards for best radio special of the year (1982).
Bob lives and works on Bainbridge Island, WA, a suburb of Seattle, with his wife of 25 years, Patti, and his shepherd/chow dog, Gidget. He is father to an amazingly gifted daughter, Jessica, and the proud grandfather of five.
